The White Line Chronicles...Post No. 4

Hey y'all, been up here in Morgantown, WV the past few weeks, the weather is finally getting nice and I've gotten out and played a few open mics here in town, in hopes of meeting some local musicians, and I've gotta say, there's definitely some talent in Morgantown.  Big shout out to my new buddy Trae Bucker from the Hillbilly Gyspies...y'all gotta check 'em out.  Links are on facebook.

I'll be headed back to the 'Ville in a few days time (again - it's about 1,100 miles round trip - I gets my windshield time) to get very close to having this record finished.  The songs on the second half are coming together well, and I can't wait to get back to Barrick Recording in Glasgow to get 'er mixed and mastered.

Special thanks to Will Sieg for designing our logo, we are VERY happy.  Also, on that tip, the line-up for the record release party has been set, we will be formally announcing it in the coming days...stay tuned.

Please like us on facebook (search @trainwrecklightnin) and thanks to everyone for all their support.

Remember kids, positive energy breeds positive energy, and negative energy breeds negative energy.  Period.  Just sayin'...

The White Line Chronicles...Post No. 3

Greetings and salutations!!

So I haven't posted in awhile, been super busy working on the record.  Have been down at Barrick Recording Studios in Glasgow, Ky, the past two days, with the immensely talented David Barrick!  The mixes are sounding incredible - thank you, Sir Dave - I just shared preview clips of Sister Molecule and All This Clean Livin' - and will post more later, but at the moment I am about to head down to Earthtone Analog recording Company and resume work on the remaining 5 songs on the album, and I am very pleased to say my very good friend and former bandmate from the Trustees, "Big" Mike O'Hara just flew in from Florida just to play on a couple tunes...can't wait to see him and to hear what all he lays down on the record.  Very honored that he'd go out of his way so much just to come play on the album.

Stayed tuned for more soon....tip your bartender.

Positive energy breed positive energy and negative energy breeds negative energy, always...

The White Line Chronicles...Post No. 2

Hello to all,

It's Saturday March 23, 2019, and all is well in Morgantown, West Virginia...as well as one can be in north central West Virginia in March, when winter seems to be clinging on with all it's might...

Just working on tweaking the website and getting it live for y'all so next week I can focus on preparing to go to Barrick Recording in Glasgow, KY and begin the mix/master process on To Save My Life Right Now. Once again, this album/project IS truly saving my life right now.  It's already gotten me through the hardest times, losing my best friend, Kevin, to suicide last November was devastating, had I not had Jeff and Chet and this music to fall back on, I am pretty sure I would have fallen down much harder than I did anyhow.

It gives me a purpose and a reason to get out of bed in the morning.  I feel like I had a fleeting glimpse into my own mortality and realize that I more than need and more than want to make this record.  I HAVE to make it.  And we are!  I couldn't be any more pleased so far.  Chet Surgener is not only the finest (and about the only) drummer I have ever had the pleasure of working with, he is a DAMN fine engineer and an even better producer.  He has helped me reach my vision regarding many of these songs, but more than that, he has had the insight the know just what to add and just what to take away and just what to leave just as it is...I seriously couldn't be any more pleased.

And Jeff Disney - if you ever make it to one of our shows, you should tell him thanks if you enjoyed it.  If it weren't for him, NONE of this would be happening.  And I'd probably be wasting away in a cheap, bed-bug ridden, hourly adult motel somewhere trying to find myself in the bottom of a bottle.  I've been very fortunate to have the opportunity to play music with people whom I regard to be some of the most talented musicians anywhere, and some of the finest damn people I've ever met, and I've been even more fortunate to have had some of those bands I've played with do well and attract a loyal following.  Through that I've met even more wonderful people, and some of my past projects have had die-hard fans who earnestly liked my music and the music of those I was playing with, but I have never had anyone believe in me anymore than Jeffry T. Disney has.  He never gave up on me.  Ever.  I quit recording and playing music live over a decade ago. And while I didn't always keep in close touch with Jeff, every time during that interim that we did speak or see one another, he encouraged me to get back to music.  He was adamant and relentless and downright pushy about it sometimes.  Scolding me and telling me that the world deserved to hear my songs.

And it was exactly what I needed to hear, repeatedly.  I had lost all faith in myself, in my art, in the bulk of the world in general.  And while I still played often and wrote songs regularly, there were only a handful of friends, like Jeff and my dear friend Lance Yeager, with whom I shared that with.  Music became something more personal and spiritual for me and I had gotten to the point where I didn't think I needed to share.  But I was wrong, and Jeff knew it all along.

Anyhow, I've rambled long enough.  Next Saturday I am headed back across the Big Sandy and into the wonderful Commonwealth of Kentucky once again, first to Glasgow to mix/master with the immensely talented David Barrick at his incredible recording facility/compound, and I can't wait.  I haven't worked with David for about 14 years and i am so delighted to be working with him again.  So, stay tuned, sometime around April 2 or so we will have the first few songs from To Save My Life Right Now available on the website and other digital platforms....

Be good to yourselves...

And remember, positive energy breeds positive energy and negative energy breeds negative energy...

The White Line Chronicles...

Hola!

Welcome to the White Line Chronicles.  It's kind of my personal diary/timeline of this project, and just general rants, raves and bitchin' about nonsense.

SO...entry one.  Welcome to the website.  There's some music available now on here from the album TSMLRN (To Save My Life Right Now) which we are steadily getting closer to completing.  So far, I am very pleased and hope you will be too.

I strayed away from music, art, etc., and became more introverted than I ever had been, and this project has brought my existence (and the purpose thereof) back into focus.  I am thrilled to be sharing these songs with you all, and to be playing and recording them with many of my long time friends, who just so happen to be some of the best damned musicians anywhere.

So stay tuned for further updates...March 29th-April 1st we will be mixing the first 7 songs with David Barrick at his incredible facility in Glasgow, Kentucky, and then, April 2-4 we will be trying to knock out the majority of what remains to be completed on the record.  Long story short, by Derby we hope to have the album wrapped and be able to focus our attention on completing the documentary and getting out around Louisville to play a few shows and get comfy with the set...much love and gratitude to you all!

Positive energy breeds positive energy and negative energy breeds negative energy...
